| Patients will feel like they’ve taken their teeth into the future when they step into Dr. Ronald Widen’s state-of-the-art cosmetic dentistry office. Featuring what he calls a “high-tech, patient-centered aesthetic environment,” his Chicago practice combines technology with skill and caring. | ||
| Proficient in the art of smile makeovers, porcelain veneers and restorative dentistry, Dr. Widen has received advanced training from the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, one of the world’s premier post-graduate centers for cosmetic dentistry. Among the many services he offers are X-rays that have 90 percent less radiation than conventional film X-rays, and are instantaneous—“so our staff spends less time in the dark room and more time with you,” Dr. Widen explains. Patients can also take video “tours” of their mouths with a special camera. “From ear to ear and corner, to corner we will show you what your teeth look like,” Dr. Widen says. But it’s not just the high-tech that keeps patients coming back. From heated massage pads to hot scented towels, “guests,” as patients are called, will delight in Dr. Widen’s “total relaxation” atmosphere. And before any procedure, patients are always educated about all of their dental options. “We leave no stone unturned in explaining why we need to do the recommended treatment,” Dr. Widen says. “We feel it is necessary for the guest to be able to make an informed decision and together we bring the mouth and self to optimum function.” To Dr. Widen, an informed guest is a happy guest. |

Dr. Widen uses orthopedic principles to rehabilitate your mouth. “Basically, a lot of people come in because their teeth are worn down and they want longer, prettier teeth,” he explains. “But you can’t just put in longer teeth because their mouth has collapsed. You have to rebuild it and open up their bite.” He relies on a myomonitor to help him adjust a person’s jaw to its natural position. “Once we’ve found that position, we build the bite around it, then we can put in the veneers or crowns,” he says. “You don’t want patients to destroy the work they’ve had done because their bite wasn’t ready to support it.” Dr. Widen says he is also known for his high-quality work with temporaries. “I use my artistic ability to re-contour and place very nicely fabricated temporaries,” he says. “I really understand the shape and characteristics of teeth, so my temporaries look almost as good as the final product.”
